The Nigerian police force has withdrawn the case against the owner of Hotels and Resorts, Ile-Ife, Rahmon Adedoyin, and six other persons who were charged with the murder of Timothy Adegoke, a master's student of the Obafemi Awolowo University.

Rahmon Adedoyin, who also owns Oduduwa university was arrested in November 2021 in connection with the death of Timothy, whose decomposed body was traced to Hotels and Resorts several days after he was reported missing on November 7, by his family.

Timothy's death had attracted public condemnation when it was alleged that he was killed for rituals purposes after his body was found wrapped in a sheet belonging to the hotel with his vital organs missing.

The case had been in court and according to new reports, the police told an Abuja High Court that it wished to discontinue all proceedings in the murder case for further investigation. The reason for the withdrawal is still unknown.
